NOTE: The numbering of the files in this course for instance 10.1.3.2 + the topic name means the following...
10 - Refer to grade 10 content (10.1.3.2)
1 - Refer to term 1 (10.1.3.2) Freehand drawings
3 - Refer to term 1, week 3 (10.1.3.2) Freehand drawings
2 - Refer to term 1, week 3 activity 2 (10.1.3.2) Freehand drawings
The result of this is that all documents will always be in the correct sequence per grade even if all documents are filed in the same folder

- Introduction and career opportunities related to Engineering Graphics and Design (EGD).
- Drawing equipment necessary for EGD.
- Different line types (Type-A, Type-B and Type-C lines)
- The frame of a drawing is like a frame of a portrait. It rounds off the drawing in a professional way.
- Title block of a drawing refer to the address of the drawing. It can be seen as the front page of a magazine indicating to the content of the drawing.

The scale of a drawing will enable a draftsmen to fit the drawing on a particular page. Large drawings for instance buildings need to be reduced to fit on a page/pages. Very small components need to be enlarged to see the detail of the components.
EGD / P1 & 2 / Q1-4 / Gr 10 / - Scales of drawings:
Free-hand drawings is an important part of EGD since quick concepts of a drawing can easily be express by a free hand drawing. This is a skill that need to be practice until mastered.

One-Point-Perspective Drawings
This topic forms part of EGD paper 1, question 3. A One-Point-Perspective drawing will illustrate an object where the front view will be drawing to the same given scale, but the disappearing side (left or right) of the One-Point-Perspective drawing will appear in an illusion as if it the object became smaller or even vanish in depth in the direction it extends to. With One-Point-Perspective drawings, the vanishing point can disappear only to the right or to the left.
In grades 11 & 12, learners will practice the principles of drawing Two-Point-Perspective drawings. With Two-Point-Perspective drawings, the vanishing point will disappear to the right and to the left.
